United Way Of Peel: Unity In Diversity Gala Keynote Address

I was so honoured to be the keynote speaker at this years Unity In Diversity Gala. Included below is the recap from Suelyn Knight, the Community Outreach Coordinator at the United Way of Peel Region.

We had 22 youth entrepreneurs who had the opportunity to display their business ideas and network. We had a live artist to capture the theme of the evening in a beautiful painting. We had 4 dynamic guest speakers Kim Katrin Crosby, Mark Beckles of RBC, Darren Anthony and Philanthropist Chief Emmanuel Mbulu who all brought their passion and inspirational stories of their journey and of what lies ahead for the community.  Emcees Paul Chapman and Jay Martin were fantastic and kept the evening flowing smoothly. There was great live music, which included a Soul Train line which was a highlight for the dancing portion of the evening.

In the words of Anita Stellinga our Vice President of Community Investment to our staff about the gala “Well done, the momentum and passion for this work grows and it continues to serve as a reminder as to why this work is important.” Which is why we will continue to need all of you and your support to Give Volunteer and Act to help us create the vision for a healthy, integrated and vibrant Peel Region.
